Courses
Roco Rescue is a world leader in teaching how to safely operate in work-at-height situations, and how to use fall protection principles to prevent accident. Our courses equip students with transferable skills they can use to effectively handle a variety of situations.
Rescue from Fall Protection
Roco’s Rescue From Fall Protection training is designed for safety and simplicity while minimizing exposure to the rescuer. This 20-hour course will train workers for safe and effective “self-rescue” when possible and prepare them for “assisted rescue” when required. The course includes hands-on techniques for rescuing a co-worker who is suspended from a personal fall arrest system (PFAS). Team rescue operations will be presented in order to prevent or minimize suspension trauma hazards for fallen workers. Special emphasis will be placed on self-rescue, assisted rescue, line transfers, descent control systems, lowering techniques, haul systems, and the hazards of suspension trauma. Safe, simple techniques will be used along with the latest and most effective equipment. Pros and cons of the various systems will be thoroughly covered.
Details >Tower Work and Rescue
This 30-hour course is designed for tower workers or emergency responders who may be called to tower incidents. The latest standards, such as NATE CTS, ANSI Z359.4, and OSHA, will be used to guide safe work practices at height taught during this class. The training will emphasize safe and efficient tower rescue operations, using modern techniques and equipment that can be used during planned work activities and then double as components of the tower rescue system.
Details >Fall Protection Competent Person
Focusing on current OSHA and ANSI requirements, this course will provide the knowledge and skills for establishing or improving a worksite’s comprehensive fall protection program. Trained as Competent Persons for Fall Protection, participants will receive practical experience in recognizing fall hazards and developing appropriate measures for reducing or eliminating these hazards. Detailed preplan forms will be used to guide participants through the process of evaluation and preparing for fall hazards in the workplace. This will include Roco’s “Fall Hazard Survey,” which identifies fall hazards and uses the “hierarchy of fall protection” to provide the most protective and feasible solutions.
