Roco Rescue recognized a capability gap for Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technicians to access, render safe, and extricate unexploded ordnance at height (such as a missile in the superstructure of a ship, or a bomb in a multi-story building). This course provides training for EOD personnel to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to safely access ordnance in elevated complex locations through realistic scenarios. Throughout this training the students will learn and understand their capabilities to access, lift, and lower ordnance in maritime, urban, and mountain environments.

TRANSFORMER TOP RESCUE

Transformer Top Rescue training with Roco RescuePREREQUISITE: NONE
16 HRS / TWO 8-HR DAYS

A little bit of planning can save a whole lot of time – especially when it comes to preplanning for rescue or self-rescue. For example, with minimal workforce and remote locations, it’s imperative to pre-rig rescue systems prior to the start of any work at height. Many emergency response agencies that respond to remote locations are simply not trained or equipped to respond to the kinds of rescues encountered by utility workers.

This 16-hour course is focused on emergency lowering procedures from the top of transformers, especially in remote locations where there is a limited 911 response. Ensure your personnel are prepared to take immediate action should the need arise.

URBAN/INDUSTRIAL RESCUE ESSENTIALS™

The new, highly anticipated 50-hour Roco Urban/Industrial Rescue Essentials™ course replaces the previous Roco Industrial Rescue I/II™ and is the starting point for rescuers working on rope and in confined spaces. This newly designed hands-on training course is for rescuers who respond to emergencies ranging from the depths of a confined space to the heights of an elevated structure or industrial platform.

Participants will be provided an opportunity to become proficient at utilizing some of the most current equipment in the rescue world while learning and practicing safe, efficient, and proven rescue techniques. These skills will allow them to perform effectively in the rigorous environments faced by urban and industrial rescuers.

For courses conducted at the Roco Training Center (RTC), participants will practice rescue operations from all six (6) confined space types including rescues from elevated vessels and towers. Simulated rescues from IDLH-type atmospheres that require the use of breathing air (SCBA) will also be included. These realistic scenarios can be used to document practice requirements required by OSHA 1910.146.

Students will also perform Rescue From Fall Protection (workers suspended from fall protection), as well as learn skills to perform rescue in offshore platform environments. Classroom lecture will cover applicable OSHA, ANSI and NFPA standards as well as Authorized Entrant, Attendant and Supervisor training.

It provides participants with new and more advanced techniques to implement in numerous practice scenarios that allows them to build upon their essential skills and teamwork abilities.

As the rescue scenarios progress in difficulty, specific time limitations are used to create the experience of “working under pressure” for the participants just as in a real emergency. Instructors will provide a debriefing after each scenario of strengths and areas for improvement along with suggestions for enhancing rescue efficiency.

For courses at the Roco Training Center (or as the training location allows), practice scenarios will be conducted in all six (6) confined space types based on OSHA criteria. More complex scenarios, including simulated IDLH atmospheres, will require the use of breathing air equipment. This course meets the minimum annual practice requirements of OSHA 1910.146.
