Description
When it comes to rescue equipment and rope rescue, there are few products that have impacted the field as profoundly as the Petzl I’D L Descent/Belay Lowering Device. Designed for use in technical rescue, the I’D is a self-braking descender with an ergonomic handle that enables comfortable descent control. The product reduces the risk of user error with fully integrated anti-panic and anti-error catch functions. Users can position themselves on the rope without having to manipulate the handle or tie off the device thanks to the product’s auto-lock system. Once locked, the rope can be taken up without having to manipulate the handle. Another important feature is the safety gate which enables the rope to be installed with the device remaining connected to the harness. Compatible with 12.5 to 13 mm ropes, the Petzl I’D L allows handling of loads up to 280kg.
Designed for Technical Rescue:
The I’D allows for smooth movement along both inclined or horizontal terrain. The potential for incorrect installation is reduced due to the product’s anti error-catch. The auto-locking feature ensures that the rope is automatically locked as soon as the user releases the handle, and the automatic return system on the handle reduces the risk of snagging. An ergonomic handle allows for ease of use and further enables a controlled descent. The product employs rope guide and markings; rope can be easily installed while device remains connected to the harness thanks to a safety gate on the moving side.
Easy Use for Rope Rescuers: Simplifies feeding out slack, taking up rope, and belaying a lead using climbing techniquies as cam is easy to manipulate. The I’D is durable and can easily be integrated into rescue kits. Weight: 1.32lb
