If you have completed our Urban/Industrial Rescue Essentials™ or Industrial Rescue I/II™ course, then you are already on the way to becoming a Confined Space Rescue Technician. The primary focus of this 40-hour course is to build upon the core skills already learned and provide the additional competencies needed to meet the job performance requirements listed in NFPA 1006 and 1670 (Confined Space Technician Level). Technician-level skills and team response capabilities will be enhanced by extensive hands-on learning stations and realistic problem-solving exercises including on-air, simulated IDLH scenarios.

Confined Space Rescue Technician will prepare students for certification testing, which includes individual skills proficiency, scenario-based performance evaluations and written exam. Roco’s certification is valid for two years and can be renewed by completing our Recertification program. Certification testing to a national consensus standard, such as NFPA, is an excellent means of documenting individual skills proficiency in accordance with OSHA 1910.146.
