Certification to NFPA 1006 Confined Space
This Fast-Track™ course combines Roco’s Rescue Essentials™ and Confined Space Rescue Technician providing Confined Space Rescue Technician certification in only 70 hours.
This accelerated course begins with foundational skills and concludes with certification testing to meet the job performance requirements listed in NFPA 1006 and 1670 for Confined Space Rescue Technician level. Testing to a national consensus standard is an excellent means of documenting individual skills proficiency per OSHA requirements.
The course quickly advances students to more complex confined space rescue scenarios along with elevated or high angle operations. Rescue capabilities are enhanced by extensive hands-on learning stations and realistic problem-solving exercises, including on-air, simulated IDLH scenarios.
Roco Certification to NFPA 1006 includes individual rescue skills proficiency testing as well as scenario-based performance evaluations. It also includes a written exam. This certification is valid for two years and can be renewed by completing Roco’s Rescue Technician Recertification program.
Compliance Note: OSHA 1910.146 Permit Required Confined Space regulation requires all rescue team members to practice making permit space rescues at least once every 12 months from actual or representative confined spaces. OSHA has approved Roco’s Types Chart, which classifies these representative spaces into six (6) confined space types for rescue planning and practice purposes. NFPA 1006 requires individual rescuers to demonstrate rescue competency on an annual basis, and NFPA 1670 states that rescue teams must undergo an annual performance evaluation.
