ROCO TRAINING CENTER – RTC
Roco’s state of the art training prop features all six confined spaces identified by OSHA. Open enrollment classes frequently taught here, and home of the Roco Rescue Challenge, or flagship annual event. Available for private training as well. Call to schedule or check out our open enrollment calendar. Roco Rescue also conducts training at sites designated by our students and clients.

When OSHA first developed its Permit-Required Confined Space Regulation (29 CFR 1910.146), Roco provided input from its industrial rescue experience to maximize the effect the standard would have in preventing and successfully managing incidents. In fact, OSHA later approved Roco’s confined space types chart as one acceptable method to classify confined spaces. Roco continued to provide recommendations and requests updated interpretations to assist our customers with their compliance needs.

Since 2013, Roco has been recognized as an OSHA VPP Star Worksite for our Training Center as well as our corporate office facilities. Roco is a nationally Certified Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (WBENC) and is ISO-9001 Certified.
Roco personnel currently sit on the following standard-setting committees:
- NFPA 1006 Technical Rescue Personnel Professional Qualifications
- ANSI Z117 Confined Space Standard Development Commitee
STANDARDS
Roco has developed a practical testing method for Rescue Technician certification to relevant NFPA standards. Testing includes a rigorous skills performance evaluation as well as a written certification exam. Both must be successfully completed prior to achieving Roco’s two-year certification. Certification by an independent third party to the job performance requirements of NFPA provides a successful operating standard for consistency among rescue team members. It also serves to document individual skill qualifications as required by OSHA 1910.146 Permit Required Confined Space Regulation.
